Performing a cover of Adele’s Hello, the Ashton student has delighted people with a voice that is difficult to believe comes from a ten-year-old.
Born in Johannesburg, Toweel came down the the Dolphin Coast with her family seven years ago. She has been singing up a storm since the age of just three years and has been stealing the show ever since.

Toweel told the Courier her singing idol was Bobby van Jaarsveld and that she dreams of one day making it onto The Voice and having van Jaarsveld hit the button for her.
“I love singing because it allows me to escape. I can be anyone I want to be.”
Since the music video went up Toweel said she has started being recognised on the street.
“People come up and know me, I have even gotten messages from Lebanon and the UK about my singing.”
With the help of her voice coach Nick Wuiun and Shyane Kisten Samy, she put together a music video that surprises as much as it appeals to the heart.
“I was a bit nervous at first when I went into the studio, but soon enough I overcame that.”

Toweel said she loves to listen to Adele, Pink, Arianna Grande and, of course, Bobby van Jaarsveld.
Already learning to sing in Italian, her dream is to one day take both Hollywood and Broadway by storm as an actress and singer.
Toweel has already performed several shows at the Barnyard Theatre in Gateway and at Crawford La Lucia, and is hoping to put on a show in the International Convention Centre in Durban in February next year.
Not only does she sing though, but she also enjoys playing the guitar, netball, hockey and taking acting and drama classes.
