Balance your life with a little zen
The new Belle Mer (Beautiful Sea) Yoga Studio in Salt Rock opened its doors on Monday afternoon and instructor Virginia Burger is ready and waiting to help you destress.
In a stressful world full of noise and responsibilities, sometimes all one needs is a moment to find balance between body and mind.
The new Belle Mer (Beautiful Sea) Yoga Studio in Salt Rock opened its doors on Monday afternoon and instructor Virginia Burger is ready and waiting to help you destress.
Burger has just returned from a second trip to India where she trained with some of the best yoga gurus in the world.
“I qualified in SA as a hatha yoga teacher, taught at Virgin Active Ballito for two years as well as teaching at Mt Moreland, Umdloti and Westbrook to groups of residents and private individuals.

“In 2016 I taught yoga in Malaysia at a 5 star Club Med resort. I recently did a hatha vinyasa flow course in Rishikesh in India to further my studies as a yoga teacher and do an authentic India course where yoga originated from, meaning I have two qualifications: one from SA and India,” she said.
She said she was especially keen to get beginners to discover the joy of yoga.
“We have sunrise and sunset classes out on the sun deck overlooking the sea. We also offer morning and afternoon classes.”
Bella Mer offers daily yoga classes incorporating hatha yoga, vinyasa flow and ashtanga yoga for beginners to intermediate and advanced participants.
“I have created a peaceful, tranquil space for yoga and want individuals to have an experience at my studio leaving feeling rejuninated, destressed and peace of mind, as well as releasing of all joints, stiff muscles and better rotation of all joints.
“My style is gentle and I incorporate meditation and pranayama (breathing techniques).”
Burger said yoga was all about balance in the end.
“Not just physical balance – though that is very important and helps relieve tension – but mental balance as well.
“You would be amazed at how a little time spent in quiet meditation can restore calm and leave you mentally refreshed.”
If you are ready to let that tension roll off your shoulders and would like to join Belle Mer, contact Virginia Burger at 084 455 0133.
