The sax king comes to town

British saxophonist, Andrew Young, will be performing at three Dolphin Coast venues this March.

Get ready for a soulful sax evening performed by award winning British saxophonist, Andrew Young, who will be performing at three Dolphin Coast venues on the first March weekend.

During his coast to coast South African tour, he will be stopping at Crawford College North Coast at 6.30pm on Friday, March 2 for the Get Back – A tribute to the music of the Beatles concert.

Featuring Quattro Femmes String Quartet together with the students from Crawford College North Coast, Young takes the audience on a journey of his growing up years in Liverpool, England with songs that influenced him and a generation of musicians. Some of the classics songs include Hey Jude, Imagine and Yesterday.

Next stop is Saxman Sound Cafe, Warne House, 5 Garlicke Drive on Saturday, March 3 at 7pm.

Young and his band will be performing a unique program of classic saxophone songs such as Baker Street, Pick Up The Pieces, and Careless Whisper as well as his own original hits.

The third and last performance will be the Diamonds and Strings concert at Rockwood Threatre at Sibaya on Wednesday, March 7 at 8pm.

“Diamonds & Strings” is an arrangement of Andrew’s popular CD ” Diamonds”. Featuring the dynamic Quattro Femmes String Quartet, together with his band, they will perform the songs such as Summertime, Cavatina, Manenberg and Over The Rainbow. Andrew’s live shows are an eclectic mix of energy and music that always leaves audiences uplifted, inspired and asking for more. His inimitable sound and style will ensure you will leave with a smile on your face.
