The Art in the Shade organising committee is already at work to further fine-tune the creative fest which started off with a bang last year.

The organising committee is already at work to further fine-tune the creative fest which started off with a bang last year.
More than 60 leading artists participated in the inaugural open air lifestyle event – a major Mtunzini Rotary fund-raising project.

Overwhelming public support resulted in most artists indicating they would return this year, while news of the success of the festival has already attracted the attention of more top artists who enquired about entering.
Apart from the obvious emphasis on professional visual and performing art displays, complementary activities in tune with a ‘fine living and culinary excellence’ theme will again ensure a good diversity of entertainment for the whole family.
These include an array of pop-up restaurants offering a good selection of gastronomic delights, beer and tea gardens, wine tasting as well as a variety of entertaining performances by musicians, Zulu dancers, mime artists, jugglers and the like, with a special focus on participation of the local community.
The Art in the Shade initiative has no commercial profit motive.
All funds raised will be channelled to community upliftment projects as per the Mtunzini Rotary’s mission of serving society.
