Rowan Stuart to launch new album in Ballito

Rowan continues to bring his own signature of Alternative Pop and Folk music to a wider audience.

South African singer-songwriter Rowan Stuart will support the release of his fifth studio album, ‘Faraway (Deluxe)’ with a free album launch in Ballito on Saturday, March 24, as part of his national tour.

With the release of brand new single ‘Survivors’, which is already receiving rave reviews and radio play across SA, Rowan continues to bring his own signature of Alternative Pop and Folk music to a wider audience.

The album launch will be held at Ballito’s popular Sound Café.

Rowan has previously collaborated with artists such as Tresor, Just Jinjer and Nibs van der Spuy, and has opened for many of South Africa’s top pop music acts.

Inspired by the rich storytelling of Sting, the intricate tapestry of African and World rhythms, and even the soundtracks to his favourite classic video games and movies, the Durban-based artist learned that music was his best tool in sharing the inner worlds of his imagination with other people.

With his pure voice and virtuosic guitar playing as the vessels, Rowan sails through soundscapes both organic and electronic.

The songs from his latest album ‘Faraway (Deluxe)’ tell tales of the complex and chaotic modern world from which the protagonists dream of places ancient and free.

His latest single ‘Survivors’ depicts a post-apocalyptic landscape where just one true ally can be a rare and priceless treasure.

The evening’s performance will include material from Faraway (Deluxe), as well as a selection of songs from his previous albums.

Rowan will be joined by bassist Josh Engelbrecht.

Entrance is free, but space is limited, so reserve your seating on 032 492 0088 / info@soundcafe.co.za
