Cooking up dreams in Ballito

Local business women enjoyed a great networking session.

Ladies recently got together at the Hirsch’s Ballito store for their monthly women in business meet up, in partnership with the Ilembe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with a great turn out of local business women getting together for a great networking session.

The speaker for the morning was Loret De Musso, owner of Lorets Kitchen and Margaret Hirsch, Women in Business Achiever finalist.

The very passionate foodie gave an inspiring talk to all the ladies and commented on how her business has grown from strength to strength.

Lauren Jacklin, Pam Gaddiah, Jan Smorfitt, Angie Glennand Mogie Singh.

“My business grew as I was always personally present at each and every function or event and I took immense pride in the products I created.

“Love goes into each and every dish.

“From a small ‘one pot’ dish to kiddies baking and cooking birthday parties, significant effort was put into every detail.  Then our famous motto, “COOKING FROM SCRATCH” was born and this set us apart from the rest.”

Loret along with the other Margaret Hirsch Women in Business Achiever finalists will be attending the gala dinneron 11 May where the overall winner for the region and the overall winner for KZN will be announced.

CEO of Hirsch’s, Margaret, started the Margaret Hirsch Women in Business Achiever of the year competition in all of the areas in which Hirsch’s operates throughout the country because she could see how she – and Hirsch’s – had benefited from the business accolades she has received over the years.

“Winning business orientated awards has been wonderful – both for Hirsch’s and for me personally, and I would like to see this happening to other women in business.

“As women, we tend not to be assertive enough. There are so many fantastic women out there who are not coming forward to be acknowledged for their contribution to the business world, and I would like to encourage them to come forward and enter the competition.”

Ann Proksch, Rianne Bisnath, Jenelle Maritz and Viv Kuttner.
