Maidstone wins KZN interclub championship
Maidstone entered 1 senior team and 5 competitive teams and each team pulled an outstanding performances over the first 2 days at Umkomaas and Umdoni, with 2 teams qualifying for the finals on Sunday at Selborne.
Maidstone Golf Club has won the KZN interclub championship for the 3rd time in a row.
The championship was held at Selborne, Umkomaas and Umdoni golf club over the weekend.
Maidstone entered 1 senior team and 5 competitive teams and each team pulled an outstanding performances over the first 2 days at Umkomaas and Umdoni, with 2 teams qualifying for the finals on Sunday at Selborne.
Club captain Alex Moonsamy said their number 1 team which includes him, Soobry Naidu and Freddy Shezi, qualified for the top of the standings after the first 2 days.
They then won their semi-finals against Umkomaas to reach a nail-biting final against Umfolozi.
“Our number 2 team: Elton Chetty, Reagan Pillay and new recruit Kevin Pillay, qualified for the Sunday alliance game and finished in 4th place,” said Moonsamy.
