Music master Jesse Clegg burns up the stage at Reddam House Ballito

Clegg thanked the school for using their venue to support the arts.

Jesse Clegg blew the roof off Reddam House Ballito on Saturday night.

Performing in KwaZulu-Natal for the first time in three years, Clegg took a moment to share with the audience his relationship with his late father, South African music legend Johnny Clegg.

Jesse shared special memories of Johnny’s final tour around the world.

“It was very emotional but also filled with laughter and celebration. It was very special to me because each place we went to, was actually his last performance at that particular venue. During that journey we wrote music together and enjoyed moments of creativity. I ended up producing and co-writing his last album, King of Town,” said Jesse.

His father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2015, which ultimately led to his death in July 2019.

“I am glad to be part of the beginning, I hope that this place will host even bigger events,” said the platinum-selling artist.
