Whether you find live concerts or joining a local community organisation more to your fancy is completely up to you, but rest assured that with The North Coast Courier’s What’s Up On the North Coast events diary your chances of missing an event are pretty much zero.
6 October – First Thursdays at The Studios. Open until 8pm with music by Afritude from 5.30pm. Exhibition at The Gallery.
7 October – First Friday Market at Odyssey Mall, Ballito from 5-8pm. Food and craft vendors with live music and kids activities.
11 October – Visit the Ballito Library where South African National Blood Service (SANBS) staff will assist with your blood donation. SANBS is at the library every second Tuesday of the month from 10am to 6pm.
14 October – The Roaring 20s Great Gatsby Gala dinner at Umhlali Country Club from 5pm with Ryno, Elena and Passion for Dance students. Dress code strictly Gatsby. Prizes for best dressed, including couples. Social dancing, open cash bar and restaurant, and amateur and professional cabaret shows. Entry at R200pp. Contact: 079 188 5768.

15 October – A21 Walk for Freedom against human trafficking starts and ends at Concha Café. Registration at 8am, 5km walk starts at 9am. Dress code: All black. Contact: 068 024 7568.
22 October – Ballito Neighbourhood Watch’s second annual potjie competition at Townsend Park, Ballito. More details to follow.
26 October – Join the Wednesday Club, a charity organisation raising funds for worthy causes, at the Ballito Library, Compensation Beach Road from 9am. Visitors welcome. Contact Filippa Heyneke at 082 602 4593.
28-30 October – Three days of Halloween Horrors at Umhlali Country Club, a fundraiser event for Sables Creatures and Paw Prints Rescue. Tickets available at event, priced from R50pp. More info at 073 352 2836 or sablescreatures@gmail.com.
5 November – Beacon of Care fundraising tea day from 10am to midday at Ballito Gesinskerk, 21 Drive-in Road, behind Leonora Drive. RSVP at 065 135 5214 or email admin@beaconofcare.co.za. Tickets priced at R250pp.
