From activities fit for the whole family to those you can hit up on your own, the North Coast has it all!

14 October – The Roaring 20s Great Gatsby gala dinner at Umhlali Country Club from 5pm with Ryno, Elena and Passion for Dance students. Dress code strictly Gatsby. Prizes for best dressed, including couples. Social dancing, open cash bar and restaurant, and amateur and professional cabaret shows. Entry at R200pp. Contact: 079 188 5768.

DJ Raul performs at Col’Cacchio Salt Rock from 6pm.

15 October – A21 Walk for Freedom against human trafficking begins and ends at Concha Café. Registration at 8am, 5km walk starts at 9am. Dress code: All black. Call 068 024 7568 for more info.

Keith Austen at The Market on piano from 10am to midday, with the Golden Super Hawks at Eat Street from 6-9pm.

16 October – Chuck Bowden performs at The Market from 12.30-3.30pm, with Afritude at Eat Street from 1-4pm.

22 October – Ballito Neighbourhood Watch’s second annual potjie competition at Townsend Park, Ballito. More details to follow.

23 October – Ballito beach and rock hike with Durban Hiking and Adventures. Meet at Boulders Bay parking lot at 6.45am. Booking essential, R100pp. Distance is 7kms. Call 066 111 1488.

26 October – Join the Wednesday Club, a charity organisation raising funds for worthy causes, at the Ballito Library, Compensation Beach Road from 9am. Visitors welcome. Contact Filippa Heyneke at 082 602 4593.

28-30 October – Three days of Halloween Horrors at Umhlali Country Club, a fundraiser event for Sables Creatures and Paw Prints Rescue. Tickets available at the event, priced from R50pp. Contact 073 352 2836 or sablescreatures@gmail.com.

5 November – Beacon of Care fundraising tea day from 10am to midday at Ballito Gesinskerk, 21 Drive-in Road, behind Leonora Drive. RSVP at 065 135 5214 or email admin@beaconofcare.co.za. Tickets priced at R250pp.
