Saturday, 22 October

2 APRIL SATURDAY ENTERTAIN - Cape-style lamb curry potjie with Spier 21 Gables Pinotage

  • Ballito Neighbourhood Watch’s second annual potjie competition at Townsend Park, Ballito.More than 40 scrumptious potjies will be cooked by businesses from the area for the various floating trophies.  Independent experts will judge three categories – best potjie, best stand and best team spirit. With amazing spot prizes to be won, and four awesome items going on auction, the day promises to be filled with excitement. Adding to this, Ndlondlo Reptile Park will be showcasing some of their reptiles, and there will also be face painting, Zorb balls, jumping castles and much more. The event opens at 11am to visitors, with the potjies to be ready by 1pm. Tickets are priced at R50 per person and you are able to bring your own picnic blanket, folding chairs and a spirit of camaraderie.
  • Rene Tshiakanyi at The Market from 12.30-3.30pm. Chuck Bowden will be entertaining on Eat Street from 6-9pm.

Sunday, 23 October

  • The Kickstands will be performing at The Market from 12.30-3.30pm and enjoy a lazy afternoon on Eat Street with Quiet Storm from 1-4pm.

Wednesday, 26 October

  • Join the Wednesday Club charity at the Ballito Library, Compensation Beach Road from 9am. Visitors welcome. Contact Filippa Heyneke at 082 602 4593.

Thursday, 27 October

  • Ballito Writers Group welcomes author and artist, Sylvia Coward for an informal discussion about her latest book. To be held at Ballito Library, Compensation Beach Road at 10.30am. Visitors welcome. Contact Peter Gunning 083 441 1950.

28-30 October

  • Three days of Halloween Horrors at Umhlali Country Club, a fundraiser event for Sables Creatures and Paw Prints Rescue. Tickets available at the event, priced from R50pp. Contact 073 352 2836 or sablescreatures@gmail.com.

29 October

  • North Coast churches bring you the Light Party, 4pm – 7pm at Grace Family Church. Adults enter free, Children R100 (includes 10 carnival games, face painting, crafts, glow sticks and hair spray) Registration is essential as numbers are limited. Contact Robyn at 083 455 9191.

2 November

  • Umhlali and District Garden and Flower Club to meet in a beautiful rose garden in Upper Tongaat (9.30am). Take folding chairs and hats. Contact Pete at 032 946 3935.

  • Beacon of Care fundraising tea from 10am to midday at Ballito Gesinskerk, 21 Drive-in Road, behind Leonora Drive. RSVP at 065 135 5214 or email admin@beaconofcare.co.za. Tickets are R250pp.
