#BookReview: The Amazing Underwater Adventure

Crystal Chronicles 02: The Amazing Underwater Adventure is fun, a locally written adventure story for children aged five to eight.

When Jack, Lily and Odinn hear a cry for help emerging from their toilet, they know their next amazing adventure has found them.

The ocean and all it’s marine inhabitants are in trouble after a hideous sea monster steals the magic blue crystal from the gatekeepers of a lost underwater city.

It’s a race against time to restore life back into the seven seas.

Crystal Chronicles 02: The Amazing Underwater Adventure is fun, a locally written adventure story for children aged five to eight.

My seven-year-old boy enjoyed the story but said he would have liked more depth to the characters and rated the story 5/10 (where a story such as ‘The Wishing Chair’ by Enid Blyton gets 10/10 from him).

The sea monster was simply a ‘baddie’ and could have had a more compelling backstory, he says.

I must agree with his assessment. Overall an enjoyable read though.
