Watch: Motorists robbed of R90k in Witfield, East Rand
According to information gathered, the driver of the Toyota Yaris had just withdrawn the large sum of money from a bank in Boksburg, when he was accosted by two armed men, driving in a white bakkie, while seated in his car parked on Lowther Street.
A driver of a VW Polo was robbed of R90 000 by armed men in Witfield on Tuesday, January 21, Boksburg Advertiser reports.
Video footage which has been making rounds on social media shows the gunmen approaching the victim’s car while aiming their guns at the driver.
Another man is seen standing on the side of the road, having a chat with the Toyota Yaris driver.
The thugs are then seen opening the driver’s door and grabbing something from the victim’s car, apparently the cash.
Thereupon, both robbers are seen running towards their getaway vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Information remains sketchy at this stage, but the Boksburg North police confirmed that detectives are investigating the attack.
