Home Grown Pride Photographic Competition
The 30 Finalists have been chosen
Photo Freedom called on aspiring photographers to capture the essence of “Homegrown Pride” in pictures to stand a chance of winning one of three Canon cameras. The cameras, sponsored by Canon South Africa, include a CANON PowerShot G7X Mark II, a CANON EOS M5 and a CANON EOS 80D.
The Photo Freedom Photography Competition was open to novice and professional photographers alike – in fact anyone with a passion for photography and homegrown treasures could enter. Craig Stevens, owner of Photo Freedom, says: “This was a chance to showcase homegrown pride; be it a landscape, wildlife, people or food that speaks to the heart of being a South African.
There were three competition categories: Cell phone category to stand a chance to win the CANON G7X MKII camera; the Compact digital camera category to win a CANON EOS M5 body with an EFM 15-45MM lens, and the DSLR category, with the CANON EOS 80D body with an EFS 18-135MM IS USM lens being the grand prize.
The panel of judges whittled down all the amazing entries to 30 finalists whose photos are showcased below. The final winners will be announced on 18 October.
