‘Keeping up’ with local author

Marguerite Poland, one South Africa’s favourite literary personalities, stopped in Durban North to launch her latest novel.

FANS flocked to the Dolce Café in Kensington Square, where one of South Africa’s favourite literary personalities, Marguerite Poland, launched her latest fictional novel, The Keeper.

Poland graced fans and family with a short introduction into her novel, as well as the inspiration and creative processes that shaped the story.

The Keeper tells the story of two generations of lighthouse keepers, the men obsessed by their duty to the light, and the wives who accompany them into a life of frightening isolation.
