Generous donation

NORTHLANDS Girls’ High School pupils recently handed over the sum of just under R8 000 to Sandy Davies from Feed the Babies Fund.

The charity, which has been active since 1957, feeds more than 8 000 babies a month in more than 200 crèches.

The money donated by the NGHS junior girls will assist greatly, as just R30 will feed a baby for a month. The specially formulated mealie-meal contains the correct ratio of vitamins, proteins and minerals required to supplement a child’s diet. The cereal is complete with sugar and milk so that only water needs to be added.

The vision of the fund is for the elimination of malnutrition and promotion and maintenance of good health among babies of all races. Their mission is the distribution of food, food supplements and items of comfort to ensure that the babies receive at least one nutritious meal a day during their formative years from birth to six years old.
