Crawford hosts super seven’s tournament

Crawford College La Lucia hosted the inaugural Crawford College La Lucia Rugby 7s Festival recently.

CRAWFORD College La Lucia hosted the inaugural Crawford College La Lucia Rugby 7s Festival on Saturday 20 July.

The festival was undertaken with the Pink Drive in support of breast cancer awareness, with many of the participating schools wearing pink socks in support of this cause. The day was well supported, with many having their hair sprayed pink or acquiring pink temporary tattoos for a small donation.

As a member of the Discovery SharkSmart Schools of Excellence Programme, the college was also able to show the benefits of the programme and how Discovery SharkSmart assists in education and sport.

The festival also saw the launch of the Boundary Buddy system at the college and the spectators were treated to a fitness demonstration by Club Zero Fitness Solutions and ETA (Exercise Training Academy).

Crawford College La Lucia came third in the 7s rugby, behind Kloof High School (cup winners) and Voortrekker Hoër Skool (Pietermaritzburg).
