Wet weather causes havoc on roads
Last week's wet weather caused havoc for motorists in Durban North.

CRISIS Medical Paramedics responded to reports of an overturned mini-van on Briardale Road, Newlands West at 3.15pm on Friday 18 October.
According to Crisis Medical paramedics a police vehicle had overturned. The occupants of the vehicle were assessed and it was established that seven people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. All of the injured were stabilised on scene before being transported to Ethekwini Hospital by an ambulance.
On the same day Crisis Medical paramedics responded to collision at the intersection of North Coast Road and Queen Nandi Drive at 1pm.
Paramedics said two vehicles collided with each other. The occupants were quickly assessed and it was found the driver of one of the vehicles had sustained suspected cervical injuries. Great care was taken to fully immobilized the 38-year-old man before he was transported to a local hospital.
It is believed one of the drivers failed to stop, due to the wet weather at the time, before colliding with a vehicle in front of him. SAPS were on scene to determine the exact cause.
On Wednesday 16 October Netcare 911 paramedics, its rescue unit and other emergency services responded to an accident on the N2 south bound just before the KwaMashu turn-off.
When paramedics arrived on scene they found a heavy goods vehicle, with three occupants, had overturned. The driver of the heavy goods vehicle, who had sustained serious injuries, was trapped in the vehicle and Netcare 911’s rescue unit had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the man from the vehicle.
The other two men sustained moderate injuries.
All three injured men were treated on scene before they were transported to nearby hospitals.
