“One of our RUSA members was approached by the victim, who requested assistance and pointed out the fleeing suspect. The pedestrian stated that he was walking home from work and crossing the railway line in Briardene when he noticed two unknown men following him.

“The pedestrian slowed down, and one suspect approached him, produced what appeared to be a firearm and demanded his cellphone. Fearing for his safety, he handed over the device. The victim followed the suspects before requesting assistance. One robber fled, while the second male ran towards Marseilles Crescent,” he said.

Balram added the officer pursued the suspect and disarmed him of his replica gun.
