Gear-up for Ozzie marathon

Entries are open for the Ozzie Gladwin Canoe Marathon.

THE Ozzie Gladwin Canoe Marathon takes place on 10 November at the Albert Falls Dam and upper uMngeni River.

The one-day canoeing race hosted by Natal Canoe Club is the second seeding race on the KZN calendar for next year’s Dusi. The race offers paddlers of all abilities the chance to get rid of a couple layers of rust which may have built up over KwaZulu-Natal’s river paddling off-season.

Starting on Albert Falls Dam, paddlers complete a 4km flat water lap before jumping out their boats and running a short 1km portage around the dam wall before getting back in for 21km of paddling fun on the upper uMngeni River as they head to the finish at Thornvale Farm.
