MORE than 70 gyms across the country competed at the The United We Stand CrossFit Games recently. The event, which was hosted by Reebok CrossFit Durbs saw 600 competitors battle it out over three days.

Steve Young, Reebok communication manager said he was thrilled with the turnout for the event. “The competition among these athletes was a true display of endurance, strength, energy and unwavering perseverance. The competition ultimately highlighted the fact what CrossFit is all about,” he said.

CrossFit PBM took first place, with team Progenex Virtuosos from CrossFit Platinum and team Iron Angle from CrossFit Ballito placing second and third place respectively.

To add to the excitement of the event, for the first time ever MTV Choice recorded their extremely popular ‘Top 10 Chart Countdown’ show from the United We Stand arena. MTV Choice hosts Roxy Burger and Sade Giliberti also participated in an Exhibition WOD (Workout of the Day) which was captained by East Coast Radio DJ Damon Beard.

“The celebrities showed great determination and spirit, and really gave of their best during the feisty Exhibition WOD. Well done to the dream team for putting in such a wonderful effort,” said Young.
