The Children Care Centre was created in 2002 by the Union of Refugee Women in Durban to address childcare-related problems in Durban´s South Beach/Point Road area among refugees and economically disadvantaged communities.

The school started with six children, today they have more than 120. The children receive two hot meals a day (breakfast and lunch).

Teaher at the centre, Germaine Habonimana, said the Children Care Centre wants to give hope through love and education to the children in the South Beach area.
