Support 16 Days of Activism
Greenwood Park SAPS appeals to residents to support its 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children campaign.
GREENWOOD Park SAPS has appealed to residents to support the station’s 16 Days of Activism Against Woman and Child Abuse.
The station’s is collecting non-perishable food, clothes, stationary, sweets, shoes and toys to be donated to children and women from local informal settlements.
“It is at this time of year we are reminded of the plight of disadvantaged people. SAPS wants to reach out to children in poor schools and informal settlements,” said Greenwood Park Police Station’s spokesman, Lt Elvis Naidoo.
Lt Naidoo encouraged local businesses and the community to support this charity drive.
“We want to make a meaningful difference to the lives of women and children this festive season,” he added.
Donations can be dropped at the station in Buxton Road, Durban North. Contact 031 571 6521.
From 25 November to 2 December Greenwood Park SAPS and other stakeholders will distribute pamphlets on sexual offences at Greenwood Park Primary School, St Michael’s Church, Corovoca Primary School , Kenvile Primary School and Columbia Primary School.
The station will also have awareness campaigns at local clinics on 28, 29 and 30 November.
