Armed robbery on M4/M41 hairpin
Second incident of armed robbery on hairpin bend.

A MOTORIST was robbed on the M4/M41 hairpin bend making it the second incident in the space of a month where the same modus operandi was used.
According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the motorist was forced to stop because a blue Toyota blocked the lane. “The motorist remembers seeing the Toyota overtake him just before the bend and stop directly in front of him. One of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle pointing a firearm and then smashed in the driver window after the motorist refused to open his door.
“The suspect then got in the car and drove towards KwaMashu where he left the panic stricken motorist. The motorist was robbed of his cellphone and R2 000 in cash,” he said.
Last month a motorist was robbed by armed suspects using the same method. “The suspect forced the vehicle to stop and robbed the victim of his money and cellphone while his accomplice waited in the car. Valuables to the amount of R6 000 were taken and the suspects jumped back into their vehicle and drove away. They were also driving a blue Toyota” he said.
No arrests have yet been made.
