The suspects are still at large and were seen running into the bushes along the M4 freeway.

AN uMhlanga resident allegedly fired several shots to scare off a group of intruders who were spotted trespassing in a neighboring property, which is currently under construction.

The incident occurred on Stanley Crescent at approximately 1am this morning. According to Blue Security the resident spotted the intruders and fired more than four shots into the air to scare off the men.

It is unknown whether the suspects were armed. The men fled the scene on foot and were seen running in the direction of the M4 freeway. The SAPS K9 unit spent several hours combing the bushes along the busy freeway.

No arrests have been made.
