Elderly woman shot in attempted robbery

Glenhills resident rushed to Umhlanga Hospital.

AN elderly Glenhills woman was shot in the elbow by a group of armed men in a robbery on Sunday afternoon. Police are unsure whether the shooting was an attempted house robbery or hijacking.

The incident occurred on Elderberry Drive at about 3pm. Police say four suspects in a white vehicle with an unknown registration were involved.

The resident has been taken to Umhlanga Hospital.

The shooting follows the brutal murder of James Quinlin at his Glenhils home almost two weeks ago. The 79-year-old was assaulted and stabbed repeatedly. He later died of his injuries.
