Car plunges down hill in Avoca accident

Four arrested as car plunges off six meter drop on Avoca Hills Road.

SEVEN people were injured when the car they were traveling in plunged down a 6 meter hill into a property on Avoca Hills Drive. What is more the 4×4 crash landed on top of another car parked at the property. Four of the seven passengers, including the driver, were arrested for allegedly being drunk.

The accident occurred at about 2.30pm on Friday afternoon.

Crisis Medical spokesman, Neil Powell, said the jaws of life had to be used to get one of the passengers out of the car, who was trapped for almost an hour.

“His leg was trapped so the jaws of life had to be used. We also had to manually lift the vehicle in order to free the passenger’s leg. Four of the men were taken away for allegedly being drunk. The seven people who were in the car escaped serious injuries and miraculously suffered just minor scrapes and bruises,” he said.
