Gang targets Umgeni Park homes
It is believed that a gang is targeting homes in Umgeni Park, committing house robberies while the owners are out.

A GANG is believed to be responsible for the robberies that have spiraled in the Umgeni Park area in recent weeks. This is according to Brian Daish of the Greenwood Park CPF.
One of the areas that has especially been hard hit by the spate of robberies is Wedgewood Crescent.
According to Daish, the criminals primarily strike during the day when the home owners are away. “All of the incidents seem to have the same modus operandi. I have been to the police station to escalate the issue, and the crime intelligence unit has been placed onto the case. The Greenwood Park Station has also increased its patrols,” he said.
Residents are warned not to leave any windows or doors open which could make their home an easy target.
“I have alerted the police of the areas that are being affected as well as the fact that the suspects are gaining entrance from the green belt Mfula Park between Riverside Road and Anthony Road,” he added.
