Mobile Home Affairs office heads to Rinaldo

Residents can apply for or renew their green ID documents at a temporary mobile site at Rinaldo Park next week.

HOME Affairs will be holding an ID application project at Rinaldo Park on Tuesday, 26 May from 8.30am to 4pm.

Residents will be able to visit the mobile station to apply for ID documents, birth certificates and various other legal documents during the course of the day.

While the project was implemented to assist the residents from Malacca Road Informal Settlement, who are urgently in need of IDs before their move to Cornubia in September, anyone is welcome to use the provided facility, said ward councillor, Heinz de Boer.

Please not that applications will only be made for the green ID books, and not the Smart ID cards. First applications for the ID books are free, while renewals will cost R140. Only cash will be accepted at the site.
