Loadshedding causes Umhlanga Rocks accident

Rear end collision on Umhlanga Rocks Drive leaves two drivers injured.

TWO women were injured after a rear end collision at the intersection of Umhlanga Rocks Drive and Village Way this afternoon. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, both drivers were placed on stretches and taken to hospital.

“Both drivers were still in their vehicles and were treated on scene. They were placed on specialized stretchers for suspected neck and spinal cord injuries before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

“The exact cause of the accident is unknown, however, bystanders allege the second vehicle failed to stop for the traffic lights which were affected by loadshedding at the time, colliding with the other. The necessary investigations will be done by the SAPS,” he said.
