Family traumatised in violent Mount Edgecombe robbery

A Mount Edgecombe family watched as their son was assaulted in a violent home robbery.

A MOUNT Edgecombe family was left severely traumatised after they were held up and assaulted in their home last night. One man,  the son, sustained serious injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital after the incident. Two elderly residents were also victims of the violent home robbery.

According to a Phoenix Crime Watch Facebook post, the family’s harrowing experience began when four armed men broke into their home in Halse Avenue.

The men are said to have fled the scene with a plasma television, jewellery, cash and a burgundy-coloured Hyundai. Police have asked the public to contact KZN VIP Protection Services on 031 502 3456 or SAPS on 10111 should they spot the vehicle.
