Pedestrian killed trying to cross N2

Seven pedestrians have been killed in recent months in the area.

ANOTHER pedestrian has been killed, this time while trying to cross the N2 freeway, just after the Queen Nandi Drive bridge. This brings the number of pedestrian related deaths in recent months to seven, four of which have occurred on North Coast Road.

In the latest incident, a man in his thirties was hit by a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday morning said Crisis Medical spokesman, Kyle van Reenen.

“When paramedics arrived on scene they found the man laying in the centre lane. He had already succumbed to extensive traumatic injuries and sadly there was nothing they could do for him. He was declared dead on arrival. The scene was handed over to the South African Police Services and is under investigation,” he said.
