Protests rock Queen Nandi Drive

Residents once again take the streets to protest.

REPORTS are emerging of more protests near Queen Nandi Drive. These protests come one week after residents of Kennedy Road Informal Settlement blocked the N2 near Umgeni Road with burning tyres and wood.  Last week the city said in the statement that the protesters were demanding houses.

It is unclear at this stage why the residents are protesting today, but photos have been published on the Durban North & Umhlanga Community Police Forum: Sector 2 Facebook page. Police are monitoring the situation and residents are warned to be careful while driving home this evening.
