Woman dies trying to cross road

A PEDESTRIAN died after she was hit by a car along Umgeni Road at 8.30am. Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, said reports indicate that the woman was trying to cross to the other side when she landed in front of a vehicle that came hurling down the road.

“Netcare 911 paramedics and the rescue unit arrived at the scene and found the female lying on the ground with life-threatening injuries. The impact marks on the vehicle indicate that the pedestrian had been flung across the bonnet into the windshield. Tragically, the lady died at the scene due to the extensive injuries that she sustained,” Botha said.
