3 injured in 7-car pile-up at Blue Lagoon

Three people were injured when two vehicles collided and crashed into other vehicles at Blue Lagoon this afternoon.

THERE was a seven-car-pile-up at Blue Lagoon parking lot no more than an hour ago, with several people sustaining injuries during the incident.

According to Garrith Jamieson, spokesman for Rescue Care Emergency Services, two of the vehicles were involved in the original crash. The three occupants of those two vehicles sustained moderate to minor injuries, he added.

“One vehicle was entering the parking lot while the second was driving out when they collided. Both drivers lost control of the vehicles and crashing into the five stationary vehicles,” he said.

The injured occupants were transported to local hospitals.
