Hijacked vehicle recovered, one arrested

The vehicle, which was fitted with a Tracker, was found in Maphumulo.

THE Nissan bakkie hijacked outside a Durban North home this morning has been recovered. What’s more, one of the alleged hijackers has been arrested. Tyron Powell from Marshall Security said the vehicle, which was fitted with a Tracker, was recovered in Maphumulo.

“The vehicle began transmitting soon after the hijacking and the suspects had driven as far as Stanger. The vehicle was eventually found in Maphumulo and one of the suspects was arrested,” he said.

The drama began this morning when a Durban North businesswoman was held up by two men armed with a knife on Blue Ridge Road. The woman, who tried to fight back, was roughed up by the thugs before eventually handing over her keys.
