Pedestrian killed on N2

Tragedy on the N2 as pedestrian killed trying to cross the busy freeway.

A THIRTY year old pedestrian has lost her life after she was struck by a vehicle whilst attempting to cross the busy N2 highway this afternoon.

Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen said paramedics arrived on the scene in the vicinity of the M25 bridge on the south bound carriage way to find the lady lying on the roadway.

“Sadly she had suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle involved suffered minor injuries only and was attended to on scene before being take to a nearby hospital for further care.

“Traffic was severely affected and the Road Traffic Inspectorate was on scene to assist,” he said.
