Minter-Brown intends to sue for damages
The former radio producer alleges that he was unfairly dismissed.

EAST Coast Radio producer, Kevin Minter-Brown, who was fired last week following an insensitive Facebook post he shared regarding two cyclists that were killed on the M4, is set on challenging his dismissal.
His attorney, Bruce McGregor, confirmed that Minter-Brown intends to sue the radio station for damages.
According to McGregor, they will be raising the matter at the CCMA, arguing that Minter-Brown was unfairly dismissed. He said Minter-Brown was fired after exerting his right to freedom of expression.
The controversial post
Public outrage was sparked on Monday last week when Minter-Brown posted the following post on Facebook:
“I’m thinking of starting a running club… I know there’s plenty of other roads, but I think if there’s an opportunity to put us directly in harm’s way, then why not?”
Minter-Brown had deleted the post and issued an apology. However, he has received death threats and was fired the following day.
Minter-Brown claimed that he was motivated to post the statement after doing research for his monthly column in a local newspaper.
He said he had been angered to learn that eight cyclists had died on that stretch of road since 2010, but people continue to use it.
