Man rescued after falling into open manhole in Umgeni Park
When rescue teams arrived in Umgeni Park on Tuesday morning, they learnt from the victim that he had fallen into the manhole on Monday night.
A MAN has been rescued after he had allegedly fallen into an open manhole on Browns Drift Road in Umgeni Park.
The 44-year-old suffered a fractured left leg in the incident.

According to initial reports the man is thought to have fallen in on Monday at about 20:00 and alerted passersby of his predicament.
On Tuesday morning (September 1), rescue personnel from Metro Police Search and Rescue, the eThekwini Fire Department and various security companies were on scene to help lift the man out of the manhole with the use of a mechanical winch.
A section of the road was closed near the intersection of Hunters Way to allow rescue personnel to attend to the scene.
