Boy (2) drowns in Durban North pool

The boy's body was found floating face-down in a residential pool.

A TWO-year-old-boy tragically drowned at a pool in Durban North on Wednesday evening. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the boy’s body was found floating face-down in the pool. The tragedy occurred on Eastview Drive just after 6pm.

“Reports from the scene indicate that the two-year-old-boy went missing and the family went looking for him when they found him floating in the pool.

“Neighbours pulled the boy from the water and when paramedics arrived at the scene, security officers from Marshall Security and the public were doing CPR,” he said.

Botha added that emergency teams worked fervently over the next hour in an attempt to save the little boy’s life.

“Tragically, despite all the efforts the child was declared dead at the scene,” he said.
