TWO occupants of a light aircraft were lucky to escape unscathed following an emergency landing on a beach in Virginia this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4.30pm.

“Luckily the pilot and co-pilot did not sustain any injuries in the ordeal and were both checked out and given a clean bill of health on the scene,” said Kyle van Reenen spokesperson for Crisis Medical.

He said the reason behind the emergency landing was still unclear.
