Scrap metal thief caught in Parkhill

The suspect was seen jumping into a neighbouring property.

AN alleged scrap metal thief was arrested in Parkhill on Tuesday. The suspect was nabbed after a resident spotted a ‘suspicious man’ jumping over the wall and into one of the properties on Citrus Lane. The local immediately called the authorities.

“Armed reaction officers were dispatched to the scene and on their arrival, a man fitting the suspect’s description was found to be stealing scrap metal from the premises,” said Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen.

The suspect was later handed over to Greenwood Park SAPS for detention.
