Man assaulted in Durban North road rage incident

The man was followed from where the incident began and was repeatedly punched and kicked in the assault.

A MAN was assaulted on Thursday morning following a road rage incident on Waterkant Road. The victim was followed from Swapo Road (Broadway) to Waterkant Road near the supermarket, where he was allegedly punched and assaulted by another driver, said Capt Raymond Deokaran.

“The incident occurred at one of the traffic circles on Broadway. We are not sure what transpired, but the victim was hooted at initially. The driver of the second vehicle then began flashing his lights, driving aggressively behind the man and following the victim all the way down on to Waterkant Road.

“When the victim pulled over to find out what the problem was, the driver of the second vehicle grabbed his hand and began pushing him around. He then punched and kicked the victim before driving off. We have the registration of the car used in the assault, a white VW Polo, and are currently looking for the driver,” he said.

Deokaran warned motorists against driving aggressively and to beware of other aggressive drivers.
