Merebank train crash leaves hundreds injured

More than 200 people are said to have been injured in the horrific head-on crash.

HUNDREDS of people have been left injured after two trains crashed south of Durban near the Merebank Station.

According to reports from the scene it is believed that the trains were travelling on the same track when they collided.

About 80 people have been stabalised and transported to local hospitals by ER24, they confirmed in a tweet no more than 12 minutes ago.

Reports have come through that more than 200 people injured in the crash.

Authorities are still on scene.
