Armed men storm La Lucia home

The young mom and daughter were locked in a room while suspects ransacked the home.

A GANG of armed suspects held up a mom and daughter in their La Lucia home on Sunday. According to Cpt Raymond Deokaran, the incident occurred at about midday on Dunford Avenue.

“An unknown number of armed suspects stormed the home. They were wearing gloves, balaclavas and bulletproof vests. They ordered the terrified mother and daughter into one of the rooms and locked them in. They then ransacked the home, taking televisions, laptops, jewellery and cellphones.  Thankfully no one was injured in the ordeal,” he said.

A hearing-impaired elderly resident was was robbed by a gang at her home in La Lucia. The incident occurred at about 4am on Tuesday, said Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen. Her hysterical screams alerted another resident, who pressed the panic button.
