A BED and Breakfast on Newport Avenue in Glenashley was ablaze no more than an hour ago.
Marshall Security was alerted to the blaze and called the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services for assistance.
A reaction unit responded to the scene and assisted with the evacuation of the occupants, said Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen.
“Swift action from the fire department saw the blaze extinguished. Reports from the scene indicate the fire started in the roof of the building, however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will investigate further,” he said.
