Car ploughs into URD restaurant

A staff member of the restaurant was injured in the accident.

A MAN was lucky to escape injury after he crashed his Land Rover through the store front of an Umhlanga Rocks Drive restaurant. The 33-year-old was outside Some Like it Hot when the incident occurred confirmed Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen.

“The vehicle crashed through the front of the property taking out the entrance and a pane of glass. One staff member sustained moderate injuries. The authorities are on scene and the injured are being treated by paramedics,” he said.

It’s believed the driver thought he was in reverse when the accident occurred. In June last year an elderly resident crashed her vehicle through the Northlands Pharmacy.
