The three suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and cell phones.

STAFF at a supermarket in Effingham Heights were robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday night. Three men are said to have entered the shop on Ardrossan Road at around 6pm.

According to W/O Leon Audh, of Greenwood Park SAPS,  one of the men, dressed in a black leather jacket brandished a firearm and demanded cash, various brands of cigarettes and cell phones from the staff.

It is also alleged that one of the suspects jumped over the counter and stole cash from the till. “The perpetrators there after fled the scene on foot with the above items,” he said.
