Body of missing eMdloti swimmer washes up

Six days after he disappeared in a strong rip current on eMdloti Beach, the body of Rylan Moses was found.

THE body of the 19-year-old who drowned in eMdloti last Sunday has been found. Rylan Moses, 19, who was down on holiday from Johannesburg, was with his friend, when they got into difficulty. The SAPS Search and Rescue who conducted the search for the teenager found his body earlier this afternoon after it washed up on La Mercy Beach.

Earlier this week, his family held a memorial in his honour. They returned to Johannesburg because search and rescue efforts were not able to find his body which has been missing for six days.

Moses’ friend, who also got into difficulty was rescued by local lifeguards and a surfer who assisted. However, as they tried to rescue him, he was swept away by a strong rip current.
