A TODDLER is in a critical condition after a head on collision on the M27 in eMdloti this morning. The little boy was ejected through the windscreen of a car in the accident and had to be airlifted to hospital.

According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the mother of the child is also in a critical condition.

“The two-year-old had to be airlifted to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital. He was placed on a ventilator. He was ejected from the back seat of the car where he was sitting with his mother. When paramedics arrived, they found the toddler lying on the side of the road. Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events are still speculative and will form part of the police investigation,” he said.
